ShareTrax expands portfolio reporting and connected-assistant tools

The latest releases bring investment records, supporting tax schedules and permission-based AI workflows closer together, while keeping the portfolio ledger under the investor's control.

ShareTrax has expanded its portfolio reporting and connected-assistant capabilities in a series of releases delivered between 15 and 18 October, giving Australian investors more ways to organise investment records and examine portfolio performance.

The updates pair more consistent PDF reports with assistant access to selected portfolio information, document submission for review and sourced missing-price approval. They extend ShareTrax's role as a record-keeping platform for shares, ETFs, dividends, franking credits and capital gains, with support for Australian and international holdings.

The product's proposition is practical: maintain the investment record in one place, calculate figures within ShareTrax and make those records easier to use in reporting and investor-directed assistant workflows.

Reports bring the supporting detail into view

The reporting release brings portfolio, holding and sale exports into a shared presentation framework. Tax summaries now continue into supporting schedules covering capital-gains events, matched acquisition parcels and individual income payments.

Reports carry qualifications and incomplete-data warnings alongside the figures. The release also improves currency handling in trade reports and prevents a failed report request from being presented as a zero result. These changes make the exported record easier to inspect and discuss with an accountant.

Assistants connect to the investment record

ShareTrax's Model Context Protocol (MCP) connector allows compatible assistants to request portfolio holdings, performance, review worklists and general capital-gains calculations within the permissions the investor grants. Figures come from ShareTrax's existing calculation engines; the assistant interprets the returned information.

The connection flow presents the requested permissions and, for access to exact figures, a private data preview before approval. Investors can manage and revoke connections in Settings. Revocation stops future access; it cannot retrieve information already received by an assistant provider.

Access depends on the ShareTrax plan, granted permissions and the capabilities of the assistant client. The connector does not imply an official partnership or marketplace listing with any assistant provider.

Document intake and benchmark context

With a separate document permission, a connected assistant can submit PDF, PNG, JPEG, text and CSV files of up to 10 MiB to ShareTrax's review inbox. Supported readable trade notes become drafts for review. Submission does not confirm a trade or post it to the ledger: the investor's existing confirmation step still applies.

Performance responses can now include a derived ASX 200 benchmark return, with valuation dates, currency and dividend treatment stated. Incomplete or mismatched comparisons are flagged as unsuitable, preserving the distinction between a useful comparison and a number that cannot support one.

Missing prices require a separate approval

Where an end-of-day holding price is missing, an assistant with the additional price-write permission can propose a dated value and an HTTPS source. In clients that support approval forms, the investor must approve the proposal within the request before ShareTrax saves it as a user-supplied price.

The feature currently covers missing closes in the reporting currency for the requested date. Existing prices are preserved, and later figures identify the use of approved user prices. A saved price does not establish a complete historical return series.

A record-keeping platform for Australian investors

The releases build on ShareTrax's portfolio, dividend and tax-record functions. They also improve the sign-up handoff from assistants and the fit of the sign-in screen in narrow connection windows.

ShareTrax is operated by CFOPartners Pty Ltd. It provides investment record-keeping and reporting tools, not personal financial or tax advice. Capital-gains calculations are not a calculation of tax payable and do not consider an investor's whole tax position. Investors should consult a qualified tax accountant about their circumstances.
